Artistic Interpretation

By placing an order, you acknowledge that personalized illustrations involve artistic interpretation and that the final artwork may not be an exact likeness of the child's photographs.

Your child's photos and questionnaire answers are used as inspiration and visual reference, but the final character and illustrations are an artistic interpretation created in The Light Within's signature storybook style.

Corrections & Revisions

If we make a factual mistake based on the information you provided — such as an incorrect name, hair color, eye color, or other important detail — we'll gladly correct it at no charge. If your printed book arrives damaged or has a printing defect, we'll also make it right at no charge.

Requests for changes based on personal preference, including changes to artistic style, composition, character design, or other subjective creative choices, are not considered corrections. If we are able to accommodate such a request after production has begun, an additional fee may apply.

Refund Policy

Because every book is individually written and illustrated for one specific child, personalized orders are non-refundable once we have received your completed questionnaire and photos and have begun creating your book.

If you cancel before the creative process has begun, please contact us as soon as possible and we will issue a full refund.

Differences in artistic interpretation or personal preference are not considered errors and are not eligible for a refund — see "Artistic Interpretation" above.

Production & Turnaround Time

Please allow approximately 2–3 weeks from the time we receive your completed questionnaire, photos, and payment. This timeframe includes the creative process, editing, printing, quality inspection, packaging, and shipment preparation.

Because every book is created individually, turnaround times are estimates and may occasionally vary. We will contact you if an unexpected delay affects your order.

Payment

Full payment is collected at the time of ordering, by credit or debit card. Zelle and direct bank transfer are also available on request — contact us before ordering to arrange this.

Shipping

Printed book pricing includes standard U.S. shipping. International shipping is calculated separately based on destination. International customers are responsible for any applicable customs duties, taxes, or import fees.

Photos & Personal Information

Photos and information you submit through the questionnaire are used only to create your personalized book. By submitting them, you confirm that you have permission to share these photos and this information for this purpose.

We do not use your child's photo, name, or story for marketing or public display — on our website, social media, or elsewhere — without first requesting your separate, explicit consent at that time.

Copyright & Personal Use

Your personalized book is created for your family's personal enjoyment. All story text, illustrations, and creative materials remain the copyrighted property of The Light Within.

The book may not be reproduced, resold, published, or used for any commercial purpose without our prior written permission.
